Frank Sonic – handmade electronic music since 1999

The name Frank Sonic has been firmly anchored in the electronic music scene for 20 years.

As a DJ he plays on the stages of big festivals like Mayday or Nature One, stuffy techno clubs like the Berliner Tresor or his longtime homebase, the legendary Wuppertaler Butan (RIP). As a producer, the thoroughbred musician spreads tracks on nationally and internationally renowned labels such as Umek’s „1605“, Tube & Berger’s „Kittball Records“, the Cologne flagship labels „Traum Schallplatten“ „Trapez“ & „MBF“, international platforms such as „Raving Society“ & „Manual Music“ but also on his own imprints „Untypisch“ and „Techno League“.

Electronic music as passion, techno as attitude to life: 7 days a week. 24 hours a day. Who brakes loses! Parallel to his gigs and studio work, he has been enchanting the dancing crowd for years with lovingly organized events. Whether with his open air „Feier Rhein“, to which up to 5000 people make their way to Düsseldorf in the summer months, or as a resident of the scene club Silq: One can without doubt call him an „all-round talent“.

From a sound technical point of view, he doesn’t like to be put in a drawer. He makes the sound that he enjoys, likes to play for 10 hours at a time and knows how to take the audience on a journey like hardly anyone else. Musical experiments are not uncommon in his sets. The right track at the right time.

When Frank started digitizing a large part of his record collection in 2007, the step to digital setup was not far away. Meanwhile he plays with laptops, drum computers and effect devices.  The limits of the conventional DJ’s are blown up and his previous successes are not taken from thin air: The readers of „FazeMag“, one of the biggest German magazines for electronic music, have voted him several times in the TOP 10 of the best German DJs.

It’s not clear where the journey will take him, but one thing’s for sure: he is far from tired and will certainly stay with the scene for many years to come.

Forward ever, backward never!
